Recommendations

On the Google Earth file for the property manager, we included recommendations for the trails at Rock Point. All of our recommendations can be seen in the Google Earth file by clicking on the various points and trails on the map to bring up the text.

For your convenience, here is a list of our recommendations with their locations around the map. Refer to the Google Earth map located to the left under the heading 'Welcome to Rock Point' if needed.

For the Bridge over the Bike Path- We recommend adding a sign informing visitors that bikes are prohibited on the trails and that there is no access from the bike path to Rock Point.

For the Bridge by Eagle Bay- We recommend repairing the bridge to make it more sturdy. Also there is a path leading to private property, which may be misleading since the trail does in fact go straight down to the bay and continues on to the other side. Clearer markings could be helpful to aviod visitors walking on the private property.

For the Trail Convergence of the Parade Ground Trail and the Outdoor Chapel Trail- While there is a map and signpost here, allowing visitors to choose where they want to go, we recommend adding blazes to the trails to avoid visitors walking off trail by accident or creating new trails.

For the Thrust Fault- We recommend a sign letting visitors know that this is where the Thrust Fault is. Also, the trail leading down the Thrust Fault is affected by water runoff, and some possible upkeep is needed.

For the Fire Pit on Holy Trinity Trail - We recommend that if fires are not allowed, this be removed or that signs are added emphasizing that fires are not allowed.

For the North Beach Path- We recommend either extending the fence to discourage travelers or putting a sign/map up, letting people know that they are entering Rock Point property.
